SoT Chapter 3

The Shadow of Twilight

-Chapter 3: Occurance at the market-

The market was situated just outside of the castle grounds, which were rimmed by a special metal picket fence. The metal used to make the fence was special because there was magic surging like electricity through it, in case of raids, the citizens of the city crowded inside the gates and the guards close them. The only ones left on the outside of the gates are the warriors of Genesis, which includes the seven Genesis Guardians. Invaders that manage to get past the fighters find an unfortunate end when they try to climb the fence and magic burns them off.
The citizen houses lay just beyond the market.

Seth remembered the last raid that happened a few years ago, before all seven of the Genesis Guardians had banded together, Seporith was outside the gate protecting the perimeter. Though not fully with the band of people he fights with now, he was still outside fighting. It was when he had just claimed the Shadow, and he was already using it like a master swordsman. Unlike normal swords, the Shadow gave the weilder tests to find out whether the weilder was worthy. It would do so to him as well when the time comes.

Seth was distracted from his thoughts when he suddenly tripped over.
"Owww. What the hell did I trip on?"
"You didn't trip on anything. Really strange, you've got the best balance of all of us." Fluffy commented.
Sitting up, Seth rubbed his back and added, "That is ridiculous, I don't just trip on nothing." he looked around and noticed a black wolf sitting under the shade from a tree, it looked up and noticed Seth looking at it. "There, that wolf!" He shouted, pointing at the black wolf.
It got up, looked around and bolted off at high speed through the crowd.
"Damn it's a fast little bugger." Seth muttered under his breath.

Seth picked himself up and looked around, after a while he stopped and turned towards his friends.
"Well, let's check out some of the stuff 'round here."
The others all nodded and the went walking around looking at some of the wares.
They were running around, from stall to stall, when Seth suddenly stopped causing Fluffy, Sora and Domitri to run into his back and they all tumbled over on the ground.

"Argh! Why'd you stop?" Sora exclaimed. He looked at Seth, who was pointing at something. Fluffy, Sora and Domitri all leaned around to see what he was pointing at. It was a girl of about Seth's age wearing the armour of the Royal guard, but had her own detail to it; instead of the regulated silver colour of the metal, it was black.
"Yeah, what's so special about this girl, Seth?" Sora asked.
"Seth's got a girl friend!" Domitri joked around.
"Shut up man!" Fluffy said as he knocked Domitri on the head with a punch.
"Ow." Domitri cried out.

"Seth?" Fluffy interrupted.
Seth snapped back into attention, "Sorry, what?"
Sora asked, "What's so special 'bout that girl?" Well?"
"She was in my dream last night."
"What dream?" Domitri butted in.
They all stood up and Seth told the other three about his dream. When he had finished, the girl started to walk over.

"I overheard about that dream of yours." the mystery girl said.
"How'd you..? What the? How did you hear me? You were miles away!" Seth exclaimed.
"Sorry, I've got the beast senses of a wolf." when she said this, Seth gasped.
"That black wolf that was streaking around earlier, he's your beast?"
"Oh? So you've met Shadow already? I also prefer 'pet' to 'beast'."
"Met him? The bugger tripped me over!"
"Dammit Shadow... Sorry 'bout him, this is really strange. He never does that to people he's never met or doesn't like before."
"Hear that Seth? She said her little wolf doesn't like you!" Domitri laughed.
Shadow had snuck up behind him and bit his rear after he said that. Domitri screamed.
"Anybody hear something? I think it was an idiot screaming." Sora put in staring in annoyance at Domitri.

"Well. I'm liking Shadow already." Seth commented with a huge grin on his face.
"Who are you anyway?" Fluffy asked.
"I'm the Guard Master of Genesis castle. I lead the Royal guard. My name is Livia..."
"Winchester?" Seth added before she finished.
"Yeah, how'd you know?"
"I was there when you were inducted into the Royal guard. I pleaded my father to let me join, but he wouldn't let me. He knew there were bigger things being planned for me."
"That's right! You're the child in the royal family. Seth, isn't it?"
"Yeah."
"It's your birthday tomorrow as well isn't it?"
"Yeah, it is."

Domitri then interrupted by yelling out, "Stop flirting you two!"
I was a bout to draw Raigo from its scabbard, when Fluffy and Sora had both punched Domitri in the back of the head.
"Shut up Domitri! It's not funny now, and trust me when I say it's not gonna be funny later." Sora snapped at his brother.

Livia had decided to join them with their day looking around the market.
Seth looked over at Livia and thought, 'Well knowing Kat, she's gonna take this the complete wrong way and get jealous that we're hanging out with Livia.' and then smiled to their new friend.
